Find out the installation path in Ubuntu

In Ubuntu , its very easy to install a software package by just providing a command as below:

sudo apt-get install software-package

Where and how to install will be taken care by Ubuntu.

When you try to use the package in the programs like eclipse, you have to provide the full path of the package.

If you are a Ubuntu Professional who knows the directory structure its very easy to pinpoint the exact location. If not you can just use the Debian Package Management System command (dpkg [<option> ...] <command>
) to know the full path.

here is the command :

dpkg -L package-name

It lists all the related packages path. you can grep for the particular information.
